Chronicles of a spider killer

I sit by the window and what do I see? 8 beady eyes staring at me. I reach for my vacuum and rush for the cord while sr. arachnid laughs and hides in a board. I aim the hose for that damn octoped, but knock down the blinds and they fall on my head. I brush the blinds off ignoring the pain and aim the hose back toward my bane. By this time of course he is nowhere in sight so I sink to the floor and wait until night, but never again did he show me a sign of existence at all in that window of mine.

A. A. Milne was a brilliant personality profiler ;-)

For quite some time now, I have had a theory that a great majority of the people in the world can be typecast as one of the many characters in the Winnie the Pooh stories. Take a look below and decide where you fall....

Some people are fairly easy going, generally likeable, go through life slowly as they take their time to sit, stop and think and always enjoy their sweets. These people are the Pooh Bears.

Other people are busy busy busy with more to do than they have the time for. These people are highly motivated and they usually want everyone to do things their way and hence often like to tell people what to do and how to do it. These people are the Rabbits of the world.

Then there are people who always seem to be optimistic, full of energy and always smiling. Even when things go wrong, they try to find a bright side. They are the people who enjoy helping people and cheering them up. These people tend to enjoy having friends around them. They are often willing to try anything once even if it may get them caught up in a tree now and then. ;-) These people are the Tiggers.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, there are the people who are the sarcastic pessimists and always seem to be able to find something to be sad about. These people often feel like the world is against them and that they can never win no matter what they do so why bother trying. These people are the Eeyores.

Sometimes you will meet people who are the meek sidekicks who are always by your side, but try to stay out of the spotlight themselves. They may be timid, but can be brave when they most need to be. These are the piglets.

There are people who are always telling people advice regardless of if it was asked for or not. These people like to tell stories of all of the fantastic things that they have done and they see themselves as the most brilliant and wise person around. These are the owls of the world.

Sometimes there are people who are just motherly and like to take care of and watch over everyone around them. These people are the Kangas.

A brief description of some whom I have met and care not to emulate...

Behind the wall is silence
Safe haven from above
No pain or anger enters in
No happiness or love

I once snuck to this haven
A long time in the past
But laughter caused me to be seen
And pushed out rather fast

The door was double bolted
The windows boarded tight
No key is know to mortal man
No entry for the light

Truth

Do you look for the truth, or do you not care?
Do you help tie the mask that blinds that you wear?

It's easy to accept and believe in lies.
It's just pain and torment that some truth belies.

We sit in this cage and perch on this swing
And wait and wait for our master to bring
Our morsels of lies from which we will live
Then sing our sweet tunes of joy that we give.
